So American!

This week I:

• attended a barbecue in which hot dogs were grilled and eaten (admittedly, not by me, and also the people doing the cooking were from Bosnia and Kazakhstan, but...)

• pedal boated in the Spookytown Tidal Basin, near the memorial for a somewhat hypocritical (in a Strom Thurmondesque way) but overall really quite impressive former president

(that's Hellraiser, in town for her birthday)

• watched the new Michael Moore movie on healthcare horror just blocks away from the official residence of our nation's fearless leader and then
  
  
• watched fireworks over our nation's obelisk from the balcony of Blackie's reporter friend who is currently in The Heartland covering the '08 Democratic race.

I didn't wear any red, white or blue, but even so, can you believe?
